It was a great tour and I think everyone should do the tour as the campus is huge and you'll be just be wandering across without understanding the history and fun facts about the various sportspeople being trained. I do hope this venue inspires more younger generation to take up sports and make the country proud at the international level!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As most people who live in Australia know, the Australian institute of sport (AIS) is most likely the best sport training facility in all of Australia & after my experience there, it definitely is the best that I’ve heard of. Visiting the AIS was an experience to remember & if you’re ever thinking of going there, get a personal tour. My group’s tour was lead by one of the athletes who train there & they seemed to know a lot more about the place than some others. Some places only employ people so that they can lead the tours but they know absolutely nothing about the place where there’re leading the tour but not this place. The tour was very detailed & interesting. They showed us all the different rooms for the sport & told us about each of them in deep detail like if it was a foundation sport or not. In a lot of the rooms they told us about the captain of the team or the tallest on the team of that sport. On my trip I went to a lot of different places, but the AIS was by far my favourite. When you go to Canberra look no further than the AIS & if you do, your trip will not feel complete. Imagine if you could get a chance to train there as one of the athletes! Honestly, that would be a dream come true for my basketball career.

The AIS is worth visiting. Even though it has been rebranded, it’s still worth a look at the facilities. The coffee shop can get busy though.

Enjoyed the tour we did at the AIS very informative and even our ‘non’ sporty teenager enjoyed it. Well worth a visit and tour.

Our guide, can’t remember her name 😬 (plays rugby union) was so informative and responded great to our kids ages 6 and 10. We loved our time in the vortex and the tour was so interesting. So glad we went and would highly recommend!

Our family of 6 did the AIS tour and interactive area. The tour was interesting but not quite as awesome as anticipated. You see the Olympic training pool, basketball stadium, weights room, volleyball courts, gymnastic area etc. Great to see where our Olympic athletes train and live. The interactive area at the end of the tour was a highlight for the kids and adults. good fun for the half hour or so. The tour was pretty good value, good cafe afterwards.

We recently visited Canberra for a weekend so went to the AIS as part of the 3-in-1 pass. We went on a guided tour with one of the athletes around the majority of the facility. The tour started with 30 mins of games in the interactive centre which makes you realise just how old you really are!! This section was great, although would be better placed at the end of the tour instead of the start. The facility itself is enormous and lucky for us we had a very chatty and informative guide who knew her stuff. It gave a good insight into the time and dedication required of the elite athletes. We didn't see any training or match practice in action, although I suspect this is not unusual. If you are in Canberra and have the opportunity it is certainly worth a look.

My husband is a sports fanatic and really wanted to go to the institute for the guided tour. Large group attended and he thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour with the tour guides personal insight to the facility. I was surprised to see some of the earlier negative comments and when we mentioned going to the hotel staff they mentioned it was a bit run down now. Compared to facilities we have it home it was amazing. He got to see some of the national teams training and enjoyed every aspect. It also gave him perspective on why the Australian teams can be so successful. For sport enthusiast what better way to spend $20 Definitely would recommend

I had been really looking forward to my visit to the AIS and was sadly very disappointed. The facility is looking very tired and uninspiring. Our guide although lovely had not a great deal of knowledge of the facility and her standard answer seemed to be I don’t the answer to that question. I would give it a miss your list of things to do in Canberra.😩
